The unpredictability of weather inspires new forms of 21st century travel, perhaps to far away places. I caste the clay pieces of my weather remotes in clay in plaster molds and assemble them with connectors I make from secondhand objects and found hardware. The remotes reconcile uncontrollable nature with my still longing desire to travel in any weather.
In the clay shaping process, I visibly retain the plaster mold's seam lines as a reminder of the human hand. Working with copied and reproducible forms allow me to create drafts rather than failures. I learned to appreciate having second chances during my stint throwing iterative 8-inch cylinders as a studio potter. I am drawn to a similar regenerative process in my production of prints using photography and light.

Materials & Process
My materials and techniques include clay to make the original sculpture and photographic printing processes on glass.
I consider glass photos to be physical objects and treat them much like a production potter who attempts making duplicates that match, by hand.
